Errantry Lodge provides free bicycles, and these two routes are ones we ride ourselves and often recommend to guests. Take a look at the route maps before you set off, so you can ride with confidence.
Liangtan Bike Path: Qixingtan → Liyu Lake
Starting at Qixingtan along the coastline, the route rides into the city and finishes at Liyu Lake, split into 6 segments. Along the way you'll pass Hualien Port, Hualien City, and Ji'an Township, with the scenery shifting from coast to farmland to lakeside mountains.
Baibaoxi Bike Path
Continuing from the end of the Liangtan bike path, this route heads south from around Liyu Lake, following Baibao Creek into Shoufeng Township — a river alongside you the whole way, in 2 segments.
